1. Describe the stasis in the play: where, when, who, what, etc. in a paragraph.
The play's setting is located on the Upper East Side of New York. Amir and Emily reside in a spacious apartment. They are currently married with no children. Disgraced takes place during the late summer 2011- spring 201. Amir has a nephew named Hussien but has changed his name to Abe in order to become more Americanized and less intimidating. Abe wants Amir to meet with an Imam who is convicted of aiding a terrorist. Amir, against the entire idea, does so in order to support his nephew. Abe feels passionate about the Imam case because he wants at least one Muslim to represent him since the entire team of lawyers is of Jewish descent.

2. What is the intrusion?
The intrusion is when the New York Times publishes about Amir and the imam and make the community think Amir is representing him. This sends a red flag to the firm he is employed and causes conflicts with his friends that turn into bigger issues near the end of the play. The dinner party is the prime outcome.

3. What is the unique factor?setting in new york
The setting in new york has significance because the language of the subject was expected and common which makes the play more powerful in a sense because the characters were meant to feel more strongly and take most things personal. Also, this is the day that Amir finds out he is not who he thought he was. For years he tried to have a different persona and live a more Americanized life, however, makes his background stand out more.
With his family and job gone, he has to come to terms with his true identity.

All characters know- Amir is conflicted with his background and his present life

6. Identify the most theatrical moment in the play and of what importance it seems to be.
The most shocking moment of the play is when Amir essentially beats up Emily after Emily discloses she had an affair with Isaac. The rage that radiated form Amir was completely unexpected and Im sure had the audience silenced. I would have never guessed Amir was capable to reach such anger.

8. What does the chief character want and what are some obstacles that stand in the way of his getting what he wants?
This play is more of Amir's coming of age journey. He, in the end, has to find himself and acknowledge his true identity. He worked hard and made sacrifices to be promoted and recognized for his abilities. However, the mention of his name in the paper, his ethnicity and his identity are obstacles
that are working against himself. His lies are coming back to haunt him and show that its time to start accepting his true identity in a world who is hostile towards it.

In disgraced, there was not a clear understanding of family, however, that was not of importance. This play exemplified how familly members of the same descent can have opposite viewpoints and disagree on something that keeps them connected.
